Help wanted
The San Francisco chapter of Surfrider Foundation is busier than ever! We have several critical projects currently running, and several positions in those programs available for volunteers just like you who want to get more involved.
Volunteering for Surfrider Foundation is a great way to meet new people in the area, enhance your resume or college application, or just feel good about helping our oceans and coastlines. To express interest in any of these positions, please contact Wes Womack at wesw@sfsurfrider.org.
We currently have openings for the following opportunities (Note: these are volunteer positions!):
Firepit cleanup Coordinator
In an attempt to preserve the tradition of bonfires at Ocean Beach (while maintaining environmental responsibility), Surfrider Foundation has played an integral role in the installation and ongoing maintenance of fire pits at Ocean Beach. We need someone to own and coordinate Surfrider's critical role in maintaining these new fire rings.
Indoor time per month: 4 hours
Outdoor time per month: 8 hours
Reports to: Eric Phillips

This site is designed in basic HTML with some CSS. Our chapter needs both regular and intermittent site updates by someone who can own the most current version of this website. A redesign is coming soon, so the opportunity to get involved in that would also make a great portfolio booster. This is an easy way to get involved and help out with our most highly-visible chapter communication vehicle.

Education Assistance
Do you have a passion for teaching others? Do you believe that educating young people about our environment, coastlines, and oceans will stay with them for a lifetime, and continue to change the world as they grow? If you are capable of devising and delivering lesson plans to students (and teachers),we could use your help. Lesson plans are ready to go, and we even have extra help in the classrooms if you need it. Class presentations and beach tutorials optional. This is a great way to get involved and make a difference with Bay Area youth.
